The Hobbity Basket is made using a wet felted technique. Once the flat felt is formed, you will use a template to cut and create your basket. It is embellished with a functional closure. Use it as a catch all container, for business cards, earrings, keys, just about anything that will fit in it.
This class is intentionally shorter in length and priced lower. We know a busy weekend is on the rise yet you might still want to have a little fun before heading to the shore or up to the mountains. It’s also conveniently placed over the lunch hour. Since it’s almost summer, we have also expanded the size of this class as it will likely be held outside. Weather dependent.
Instructor: Farren Maillie
Needle felting is a process that sculpts wool into any shape you imagine. Wool fibers are covered with scales. In needle felting we use special barbed needles that lock the scales of the fiber together through agitation. What this looks like in real time, is stabbing fluffy colorful wool over and over with sharp needles. We will be using a variety of fibers for this project. This is a beginner friendly class.
Classes are held in the comfort of our converted double bay garage. It is on the street level and equipped with a powder room. If the class is full we may ask you to park at the bottom of the driveway and walk up the short distance past the alpaca fields. We have a farm shop on the property that you are also welcome to visit. Feel free to BYOB or snacks. Pictures and fun are encouraged!
