You’ve fallen in love – now what? 

Alpaca 101 was developed to welcome you into a space where we can talk all things alpaca.  It is intended for anyone who is interested in owning alpacas now or in the near future.  Yes they are cute and fluffy, but there is a lot more to know if you want to embark on the journey of caring for them full time.  Over a casual lunch, we will dive into what it’s like to be an alpaca farmer – what the day to day chores entail and what their behavior is really like.  We will take some time to look at your goals for ownership – from lawn ornaments to hobby farm to showing and breeding. Then we will discuss general costs to raise them – feed, vet bills, hay, etc.  Please come ready with your questions and dreams.

We have been breeding and raising alpacas with high quality genetics for a purpose since 2011.  We maintain tight herd health protocols and stay up to date with the industry.  We have learned so much from other breeders and love to share our knowledge with anyone who is interested.  We have helped many farms get started with a small herd and watched them grow.  We are happy to visit your location and share our opinions and expertise if you desire.  Our goal is to educate new owners; mentor them as they move into ownership of these beautiful animals for as long as they want our help.  We can provide you with resources and support along your journey.  If you’re starting to get serious about alpacas, this is the class for you.
