Felted Alpaca Ornament – Guatemala

Description

The eruption of Fuego – a powerful volcano near Guatemala City – had a devastating effect on various surrounding communities beginning June 3, 2018.  Many creative women in the area were looking for a way to earn money to support their families after the tragic incident.  I bought some pom poms from them and asked if they would consider making an alpaca for me.  This ornament and others helped more than 60 women achieve a significant income and transformed a tragedy into color, hope and love!
