When I see Rhoda’s work I see passion, texture, form and am always inspired to reach higher. After a brief demo, you will begin by creating a vessel or tile by hand. Creative examples include an herb planter, wall hanging, container, totems, bird house or wherever your imagination takes you. They can be kept outside year round if desired, so think sculpture or functional form. All pieces will be fired after they dry and left unglazed for a naturally rugged look. You will be notified when they are ready for pick up. Cost includes artist demo, supplies, firing and light fare. If you wish to bring your own items to create texture, that is welcome.
Note: This workshop intentionally starts a little early because we realize you might want to make it a total clay day! Nearby at Chester Springs Studio, the Celebrating Clay Committee is hosting a show that runs from October 4th through the 19th. On Saturday the 12th, Bernadette Curran and Brad Johnson happen to be conducting a workshop from 1p to 3p. So if you desire, you can head over to the Studio and support the show.
